How does consultancy pricing work?
Project-based, quoted by scope. Entry reviews sit in fixed ranges you can see on the services page — a remote desktop waste review, for example, sits in the £120–200 range. Core programmes (material reduction, bespoke plans, implementation) are quoted after a review, staged as assessment, plan and implementation so you only commit one stage at a time.
Are you a waste carrier or waste collector?
No. We are a reduction consultancy: we work upstream, at the point where waste is created, so less of it needs collecting in the first place. If your waste needs hauling, you want a licensed carrier — and your waste-management plan will say so.
We’re a small business — is this worth doing?
That is exactly who the service is built for. Small operations rarely have someone whose job is waste, so routines go unquestioned for years. A structured review is sized to a small business scope and priced accordingly.
What does the process look like, and how long does it take?
Four stages: scoping call, review, recommendations, written plan. A desktop review typically runs one to two weeks from the call; larger engagements with on-site walk-throughs take as long as the site list needs. You get dates in the written scope before anything starts.
What do we need to provide?
The useful basics: what you buy, roughly how much, where waste and recycling leave the building, and any existing collection contracts. Photos of bins, stores and problem corners help. We send a short checklist after the scoping call — nothing onerous.
Do you help implement the plan, or just write it?
Both. The plan is the core deliverable, and implementation support is available per phase: stage reviews at agreed checkpoints, revisions as operations change, and a tidy handover pack. Some clients run it themselves; others keep us on for the first quarter.
Can you guarantee how much we’ll save or how many tonnes we’ll cut?
No — and be wary of anyone who does. What we do is identify the opportunities in your current practices and build a plan to act on them. The reductions follow from the changes your team makes; we measure and review rather than promise.
Which industries do you cover?
The service is built around small businesses and organisations generally — workshops, offices, e-commerce and dispatch, food-adjacent retail, light manufacturing. If your waste is mostly materials and packaging rather than hazardous or specialist streams, we can help.
Do you need to visit our site?
Not always. Reviews start remotely — documents, photos and a call cover more than people expect. On-site walk-throughs are arranged where seeing the floor changes the advice, typically for multi-stream recycling or packaging work.
What do we actually get at the end?
Written deliverables: the waste review record, a reduction and recycling checklist, and — for plan engagements — a waste-management plan with phased actions, owners and review frequencies. Everything is handed over in one pack.
Will a plan make us compliant with environmental regulations?
A plan supports good waste practice, but we don’t provide legal advice or certify compliance — no consultancy should promise that. If a question needs an environmental lawyer or a registered compliance adviser, we will tell you plainly and hand over what they need.
